WOMEN'S SELF-DEFENCE

Designed to help women feel safer, more aware, and more confident in everyday life.

Women’s Self-Defense Classes

Our Women’s Self-Defence classes are designed to help women feel safer, more aware, and more confident in everyday life. These sessions focus on practical, real-world situations, taught in a supportive and respectful environment.

The classes are open to women aged 16 and above and are suitable for all fitness levels and experience — no previous martial arts training is needed.

Practical Self-Defense for Real-Life Situations

Unlike traditional karate training, these classes are straight into practical learning. There is no formal karate syllabus to follow and no time spent learning patterns or grading requirements.

Training focuses on:

Awareness of surroundings

Understanding potential risks

Responding calmly and effectively under pressure

Creating opportunities to escape and stay safe

The aim is not to fight, but to protect yourself and get away safely.

No Uniforms and No Gradings

There is no formal karate uniform required for women’s self-defence classes, and there are no belts or gradings.

This allows sessions to remain:

Relaxed and accessible

Focused purely on practical learning

Free from pressure or expectation

Students can attend in comfortable clothing and concentrate fully on learning useful skills.

Techniques That Play to Women’s Strengths

The classes are designed to teach techniques that play to women’s natural strengths, rather than relying on size or physical power.

Training includes:

Targeting particular body areas (not the obvious ones)

Using balance, positioning, and timing

Simple, effective movements that work under stress

These techniques are taught in a controlled and supportive way, allowing time to practise and understand how they apply to real-life situations.
